Box Making for the Fiber Artist
5 Lessons/5 weeks - $50 Class Description: I love to make boxes and in this class I知 going to show you how to make several different styles of boxes ranging from simple square ones and house shaped boxes to teapots and boxes that unfold into game boards. We値l be working with a variety of surface design techniques involving fabric, tissue paper, paper bags, and more. No previous box making experience needed, just a sense of adventure! This class is suitable for all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Note: We will be using our sewing machines for some of these projects but you値l only need beginner sewing skills. Lesson 1: We値l kick off the workshop creating a box with windows using one of my favorite techniques using tissue paper that creates a beautifully textured surface that works very nicely for boxes. This box is perfect for holding potpourri or candies. Lesson 2: For our second project in this class we値l
create a box shaped like a house with a flip top roof. Use
this box for storing everything from tea bags and chocolates or use it
to hide a secret stash of cookies! Lesson 3: This week we値l use the technique we learned
in lesson 1 to create a gorgeous textured vase and then I値l show you
how to turn a brown paper bag into a faux red leather laced up vase. Lesson 4: I知 going to show you how to make a box that unfolds into a tic-tac-toe game this week! Lesson 5: For our last lesson I have two projects for you: we値l be making a 3d teapot with a flip top lid and I値l show you how to create a pyramid box with flip down sides.
