Silk Fusion Workshop

Class Description:  Silk fusion (sometimes referred to as silk paper) is easy and fun to make.   Typically it is made by treating layers of silk with a textile medium or stiffener.   It can be made in flat sheets resembling fabric or it can be molded into three-dimensional shapes.  I知 going to show you several different ways to create silk fusion including a no fuss, no mess way that doesn稚 involve any liquid adhesives.  

Lesson 1:  We値l start off by learning how to create flat sheets of silk fusion.  I値l show you how to use both pre-dyed silk and undyed silk that you can color yourself.   We値l turn our sheet of silk fusion into an easy-to-make treasure box.

Lesson 2:  This week I知 going to show you how to create silk fusion sculptures and molded objects.

Lesson 3:  We池e making fusible fusion this week!  I知 going to show you a different no mess way to create a sheet of fusion that doesn稚 involve any liquid adhesives.   We値l use our fusible fusion to create a quick and easy composition book cover.   

Lesson 4:  This week I am going to show you how to make a vase by weaving strips of silk fusion together and we値l talk about silk fusion as wall art.
